Spa Day at The Maryborough Hotel

Happy Bank Holiday Monday :)
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Lucky for me I'm off until Thursday :)

So, Last week, I headed to The Maryborough Hotel, just outside Cork City for a Spa Day with a few friends. They had a very good offer on for the month of July. It was €89 for 2 mini treatments and light lunch. Our treatments were booked in for 2pm and 3pm, there was 7 of us in total, so it was great that they could take so many together. We were asked to arrive an hour before our treatment to allow for lunch and time to get changed.
We were greeted by really nice and friendly receptionists, who showed us to our table for lunch. In the waiting area of the reception, there is a table with a jug of water and cucumber to sip on. Such a nice touch.
There was a wide variety of lunch to choose from. I got a chicken wrap which was served with chips and salad. Delicious.

After lunch, we were given our flipflops, robe and towel, and shown downstairs to the spa area. From the minute I got to the bottom of the stairs, I felt I was in a little bit of heaven.

My treatment was at 3pm so I had over an hour of chill time in the Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and the heated pool. AMAZING.
About 5 minutes before our treatment we headed into the relaxation room to chill.

My therapist, Christine, showed me to my treatment room. Another little piece of heaven - the smells, the lights and just the overall feeling in the room, made me relax instantly. I chose to have a mini facial and back, neck and shoulder massage. Christine asked me to choose some oils by smelling them. I cant remember exactly the scents but both the scents I choose - one for the facial and one for the back massage, were for relaxation. When you smell the oils, your body is instantly attracted to the smell that your body is craving and my body was craving relaxation according to my smell.

The treatments lasted about 50-55 minutes in total, I was then brought back to the relaxation room where Christine gave me a bowl of sorbet, it tasted so good.

Again in this room, there was flavoured water readily available to rehydrate after the treatments.
We were allowed to stay in that room for as long as we want. I headed back to the heated loungers in the thermal suite and....... I fell asleep. I was the most relaxed I had been in a long time.

We opted to have dessert afterwards as well. This was extra but it was so nice to have after a relaxing afternoon.

They not only have a female thermal suite but a male thermal suite also, so the men wont feel left out, if they want an hour of chill time too.

I plan on heading back again and can 100% recommend this spa. But next time I am going to book in for the night, so I can head up to the room in my robe, order room service and continue the relaxation into the following morning.

Let me know if you guys head for any treatments there. You definitely wont be disappointed.
