London!

Hi everyone.
Hope ye are all well. By the time this blog goes live, I'll already be home but I kept a diary of my trip to London while I was over there. Hope you guys enjoy 😀
I will split the post into a couple of posts.

Me and my boyfriend, Anthony decided that for X-mas last year we would head away somewhere in February or March instead of doing presents. We still got each other little bits to open on Christmas Day but our trip away was the biggest part of it.
We left it til after Christmas to book something. We had so many places to choose from but we narrowed it down to Prague, Amsterdam, London and Rome. Needless to say, London won.
So after days of trawling the internet, I found a deal on www.ebookers.ie. I've used this website countless times and found the deals amazing for both accommodation and flights combined. It took me forever to choose a hotel. We wanted something central but not on the pricey side.

In the end I picked a hotel called "Thistle Holborn, The Kingsley". According to ebookers.ie it is located 1.1km north from the centre of London. We picked an early morning flight from Shannon(it was cheaper than Cork), and an evening flight back from London. 3nights, 4 days in London, what more could a girl want?

If your flying from Shannon, and your driving, book your car park beforehand, it will save you about €16.
We flew with Ryanair, to Stansted.
Once we landed, we got the Stansted express train to Liverpool Street Station. Prepare for madness if you've never been to London before. Have your wits about you. It's so busy in the train stations and subway stations. We got off at Liverpool street and got a tube to the Holborn station. The hotel is about 5-10 minute walk from that station.
First impressions of hotel - me likey 😄 it had steps up the entrance with the most amazing purple carpet. Who needs red carpet eh??
The smell- was so nice and welcoming.
The Staff - so helpful and friendly. We even got our room 3 hours early.
The room - not very big but perfect for what we wanted, a place to sleep.

So after arriving to the hotel and checking in, we just relaxed for awhile. We had been up since 3 a.m.
About 2pm we decided to head off in search of something to eat. We were both starving so we picked the first place we saw - a buffet Chinese. It was actually quite nice and was about £8 each.
Unfortunately for us it rained all day, so I got absolutely no pictures. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I will have some outfit pictures too.

We headed off down Oxford Street and Oh My God, it's the widest, longest street I've ever seen. I never realised you could have so many shops in one street. You definitely need 1 full day on this street alone. I picked up a couple of bits but hopefully will get to back to pick up a few more bits. I haven gone to Primark yet so I HAVE to get there.

We went and got a croissant thing and hot chocolate in the evening in a side street cafe. It was a awful. Can't remember the name of it. The staff were so pushy, our waiter practically sat on my lap waiting for us to decide what we wanted to order and we weren't even finished when the bill was put on the table and the ware was taken away.

After that we decided to get an early night, be prepared for the next few days, so we headed to Sainsburys, and picked up some rolls. Currently lying in bed watching some movie, eating my roll and writing this.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post. I will have lots more posts about my trip, but to start with I'll do a daily diary. After that I'll do a shopping haul too. I'll include my outfits in the posts in the coming days.

Chat soon guys,

Orla
